For New Players to Arches

Arches is an honor system, so we take meta gaming very seriously

Metagaming ruins events and the experience, so don't be that guy

Metagaming is is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions. This includes but is not limited to using out of game information, not taking weapon hits properly, not setting your testing bag correctly or pulling a specific gem from a testing bag and not letting it up to chance, using improper, unsafe, or unchecked weapons, Bringing real or live weapons to game, Repeated out of game conversations

First time Caught meta gaming you will be asked to leave the event,  second time you will not be allowed to return for a year, Third time banned for life.

Weapon:

We allow different weapons types, boffer, latex and nerf guns

All weapons will be inspected for safety.

For Latex weapons please no thrusting unless there's a thrusting tip on the weapon.

Boffer weapons may be made out 3/4in or 1/2 in pvc for the core. foam insulation then encompasses the core. and must contain a thrusting tip  made out of open cell foam for the thrusting point.

For unarmed we use Light color boffer measured out to be about 16 inches with thrusting tips on both ends of the weapon.

For nerf guns, nothing too crazy the time period is 1960, and the guns should reflect that. If your gun needs batteries in order to fire, it will be inspected and most likely asked not to be used.

Arches Functions off of a hit location system, where if you get hit in that location it is unusable and needs to be fixed. The locations are, the four limbs and torso. If you got hit with a blunt weapon then the bones are broken, you are in no danger of dying but the location is unusable. For edged based wounds if it is a limb wound you have 5 minutes for it to get bandaged and a few simple stitches can fix that. if it is your torso, then the five minutes becomes your death count. You have 3 minutes of conscious time and then 2 of unconscious. if no one gets to you in that amount of time your character is dead. if an edged based  wounded area is not bandaged then it will need a more complex surgery to fix.

Oh no my character is dead: this may not be the end of your character wait a few minutes after you are dead to allow other players to find you, or loot you, If no one finds you white head band and come find a gm.

Armor has six levels, and it can be phys rep'd how ever you want, as long as it can be seen that you have armor on.

Armor covers the entire location it is being worn on, such as a glove (level 1 simple armor) will also protect the arm as well. so if you get hit in the arm consider your armor now in need of repair.

The levels are 1 Simple, 2 Advanced, 3 Complex, 4 Modern, 5 Advanced, 6 Futuristic,

Each level gives the armor another point to take damage, ie level 1 can be hit once then it's destroyed while a level 5 can be hit 1-4 and be broken but if it's hit 5 times then it's destroyed and needs to be repaired.

The Differences between broken and destroyed are that a destroyed piece of armor will take a special challenge to fix it (except for simple armor)

To Repair Armor the challenge is for Jack of all Trades, [10 minutes per point being repaired (can only be fixed up to advanced) plus 1 structural resource such as scrap metal,

If you are in a work shop then the challenge is still 10 a point but no resource is needed for simple to modern armor (Advanced and futuristic armor will have a special challenge)

if the item is destroyed then it will take a separate challenge to repair which will be 20minutes to get it fixed to 1 point of armor then normal rules apply  (except for simple armor, no additional challenge is needed when it is destroyed)
